About

Ian (Me)

Actor, Storyteller, Facilitator, Audio Production

I have been working as a multi-discipline creative practitioner since leaving Drama School in 2000. I have always loved creating theatre and performing but never quite understood this need for the performers to be separate from the audience, we are all in the same room, surely it would be rude not to speak to each other!

I have been drawn to interactive arts in general and particularly anything that invites an individual, group or community to re-examine their place in the world. I have taken my theatre work and facilitation to Prisons, Hospitals, Mental Health settings, Business and Education.

Since playing around with tape recorded audio dramas with my mate Dave when I was child, I have been interested in audio recording and production. I have narrated audio-books, designed and delivered audio installations and created audio-dramas. I have a purpose build recording studio

My most recent work combines both my love of story-tellng, audio and community work. Whilst studying my Masters in Applied Theatre and Education (Distinction), I developed a process of developing work that unearthed communities stories of place. You can find more out about that here
